Enjoy Software Defined Radios! I have built and operated several SDRs from the Softrock40 series. My latest is a Peaberry SDR, 1-watt QRP rig that I have used to contact all 50 states, all continents, and have achieved over 8900 miles per watt. Much fun with ham radio and the new technology. The SDRs are amazing.
Jack, W5WQQ
I have only seen SDR in action live once on a field day with our radio club… I was very impressed with the operator and operation of it… Thought I might like to get one someday own the road…
Bob
Neat offer, would love to try one of these SDR radios, would be great xmas present.
Tnx
Paul
Nice treat, I want one! Please.
Sverre
Thanks
These “RTL-SDR” sticks are by far the best bang-for-the-buck in RX-only radio. Here’s hoping I get lucky enough to snag one of the upconverter bundles.
What’s the “NESDR XTR”? I can’t find anything about that model. The Mini 2 is clearly the one in the image, the one with the new version of the tuner chip, Google turns up absolutely nothing about an “XTR” model.
Oh, I’m in!
What a great Christmas present!
Merry Christmas!
Steve
Thanks for the chance!
Nifty prize, indeed – thanks
Thanks for going thru the trouble of putting this together. This is a great idea for the Holidays. Merry X’mas, Happy New Year and Happy Hanukkah to those that observe.

Unbelievable offer. Very interesting!
Good people at Nooelec, I’ve done business with them before. Thanks for the chance to win this nice Christmas package! 73’s, David
I already own an SDR with the HamItUp and they work simply great together. I used to listen and decode most of the digital modes like PSK31/63, RTTY, JT65 and WSPR mainly.
It works great as a panadapter that is incredibly useful during contests 😉
But the coolest thing is when I pair it to my Nexus 5 so to have an always handy radio to listen to everything is needed. Recently I found a way to use it to decode weather fax.
SDRs are changing the ham world and I’m pretty exited considering that is just the beginning of the fun!
Buon Natale!
Let’s see how many people do sign up for this thing! 🙂
Thanks for an awesome giveaway.
A large happy Christmas to NooElec !

Great learning tools,
You promotion is a great idea,
Now we need an inexpensive DVB-T receiver say $25 to $50 dollars. (Dongle) think you guys could come up with this?
Can give you more specs if you are interested. Must be able to receive 4mhz band width. There is a market for this
Device . Ones available now are cheap, but only does 6 mhz BW.
Henry
Last years contest was a motivator for me to get my license since it required a call sign to enter.
Nice to see SDR getting more exposure and interest!
Equipment like this is an cheap entry to the interesting Radio Amateur hobby. Hopefully more SWLs will become active due to available technology, and then later on, go for the licence.

very interesting sdr
What a great contest. 73’s
Very nice guys!! Thanks
What a great offer merry Xmas every one..
Cool! 🙂
😉
I’m working on a project at my university to find a radio beacon on the ground. Usually looking for high altitude balloons after they land. Flying over in an airplane I can detect doppler shift on the transmitting beacon. With an SDR I could write software on the computer to calculate the exact location of what I’m looking for, then radio the crew on the ground. Winning one of these would be extremely helpful to my project!
SDR is definitely the direction that amateaur radio is heading, and this little receiver would be a great way of getting into it. A sincere thank you to those responsible for this opportunity of getting one free.
Thanks for allowing me to enter!
I would love to explore the radio world above 30 MHz. Just scanning doesn’t cut it. With the right software a SDR can display some significant bandwidth.
Thanks for your generosity.
73
Thanks! Happy Holidays!

The exciting part and some might disagree is the variety of software that people have developed with these SDR’s. I think back to the first time this year I figure how cool it was when I decoded weather faxes in software. I have even heard broadcasts from Antartica..
Would love to have one for experimenting thanks for the drawing!
a new SDR would be great for christmas.

SANTA DE OK2GND TKU FOR RX
I’ve been wanting to play with one of these things. There’s so much other stuff today that’s taken over many of the things I used to do with amateur radio, it’s time for a new take on the hobby. I look forward to trying this concept out, and since disability income doesn’t allow me to spend much on the bobby anymore. I’d love to be a winner!
Hi all sound like something i would like to try . 73s vk3ut -vk3dx greg cheers all .

Looking for some Christmas luck!
I was thinking RTL-SDR might be the way to encourage young people to get involved with radio. If you think about it, we need to get them hooked on RADIO first, then some will get hooked on the HAM bands.
RTL-SDR might be the bridge to the generation we are loosing. There is something about a hearing police and fire calls, or aircraft tower transmissions, short wave, the number stations, A1 code, or just the plain-old squeals and whistles from somewhere far, far away that fills a young persons imagination, and the imaginations of some old goats, too.
A great prize. I’d love to win one!
I notice that the SDR Radio start to call th atention of many ham
Thank you for drawing attention to SDR.
I would enjoy having these products in my shack. I would do full end to end testing on the products and put my reviews on Eham.I simply love SDR See my profile on Eham. 73 and happy holidays to all worldwide
Having Become a ‘Ham’ after being a Broadcast band DXer for many years, I would love to try out this new technology of Low Cost SDRs-using Dongle. This would also showcase how technology improves listening/ monitoring pleasure. 73’s, Prashant

I am just retired and have been following your press on the new sdr and the uconverter. I have had a call since 1956 and would love to try sdr. I have been discussing this with our radio club and have been thinking about getting a club project going, quite a few members quite keen to have a try.
It would be great to have a pilot unit to convince the others of their worth.
Thanks for the opportunity and Merry Christmas to you all up there from down here!
kind regards
Howard VK3QA
The Yaesu 950 is without a doubt one of the best HF radios I have owned and used.
I fed my 950 with a cmbonation of RG-8 and the 75 ohm approximatey one inch cable TV line. The local people that was putting up new cable TV and they rejected the last 300 feet of this cable and the local hams used a lot of it.
hope I win.

RTL-SDR is the best discovery of the last years in HAM radio. Something really new and really exciting and Noeelec is doing a great job adapting normal DVB-T adapters to HAM radio use. Glad to have found this website as well. 😉
I find the subject of SDR very exciting, having been a radio ham since 1954. Amateur radio has progressed from having a complete D I Y station to the modern and very small equipment we now use.

I’ve been meaning to investigate this aspect of our hobby but somehow never did anything about it.
Looks like an ideal product for radio astronomy. I plan to have a go at meteor detection and listen the emissions around 20Mhz from Jupiter. With the low cost it would be possible to monitor several frequencies with a laptop/PC if the processor is fast enough.
