Scafell pike

image

Yesterday I made a secong attempt to activate Scafell Pike. Usually I got up to summits alone or with the dog bit this time was with a bunch who were training for the 3 peak challenge. Needless to say the summit was in cloud, it snowed then hailed then rained on me as I came down. Still this time I had a whole load more qso’s and a much more satisfying activation. Wast water (in the photo) is a beautiful lake that is surrounded by some impressive fells. Not as nice a Ennerdale but then again I am a bit biased.

Beautiful, Thank you for posting the photo. I especially appreciate seeing this kind of country side, because my old knees won’t take me to places like that anymore.

Beautiful photo. It reminds me of my years in North Yorkshire in the Nidderdale. A peaceful time I look back with great pleasure.

  • Thanks for the kind words. It was only taken on my phone just before a gentle hailstorm. The paths were visible for a short time as areas with the most hail on them. they looked quite odd.

I’ll dig out the one of Ennerdale (my favourite place) when I was out hiking last year. Again it was only taken on the phone so its not that great a shot but I have a copy at work to remind me where I ought to be!
