Firefox 4 just works

Following my rant about Internet Explorer 9 this morning I noticed that Firefox 4 had now been released so I decided to update my 3.6 version. The update took less than half the time, there was no disabling of security software or restart required, it checked my add-ons for compatibility and automatically updated those as well. And all the pages I have tried to view display perfectly. A flawless, hassle-free update, just as it should be.

Remind me again why Microsoft is so successful?

Wow, Julian. You’re lucky. The minute I installed FF4, my browser started crashing about every 15 minutes. So many times, in fact, that I started having second thoughts and pondered switching back to 3.6.

    Maybe it’s a add-on compatibility problem?

Have you used Firefox for Android? It’s not of the same caliber as FF for the PC/Mac. I’ve taken to using the Dolphin HD browser on my mobile and have been pretty happy.

They have become the IBM of whom they used to make fun, only not as good.

[email protected] just did the upgrade and had to upgrade a login program I was using.there were 3 other issues only one of which I need to look into. The new program seems to move much faster as promised.

4 is GR8! All other versions leading up to it were also. I think folks are just afraid to try any non microsoft stuff. Win7 runs this gizmo but all my other programs are NON….

  • Kyle N4NS:

You guys realize that IE9 is ONLY for Vista and Win7……right?

  • Jon W4JRK:

I could not agree more. I updated Firefox yesterday and it was as easy as described. It updated my Ham Info Bar in no time and everything works well. I like Firefax better as its not as much of a memory hog as IE!
