To the beach

An off topic item, I was shopping with my daughter Anna to Zaandam, diner in Egmond and to the beach at night with the horses. See how nice it is in the dunes and the beach in the near of my QTH. I made the video. Not much time for radio. The kids are having summer holidays. Next week we are in the South of France for 3 weeks. No radio this time, just books, iPad, and hopefully nice weather.

Get rid of the Blogger Nav Bar

Some of us want to get rid of the Blogger Nav Bar on the top of the blog. Now we have XML templates, but how to remove the Nav Bar from a XML template, watch this video. My Blogger site is in Dutch, but I hope you understand what to do.

Good news from QRZ.com

As most of you know, I have copyright issues with Youtube. I was wondering if that was the same with photos taken from QRZ.com

A lot of pictures on the internet have a copyright. Using it without permission can gives a lot of troubles. So I sent QRZ an email. The QRZ Support Team replied as follows:

"Photos on QRZ are not generally copyrighted material unless they say so in something like a watermark on the photo. We would ask that you be respectful and remove an image should a member ask you to do so."

I think that is good news!

The old blog of mine is still attainable for old postings. But for new posting I continue here because I like the URL. When I change my call sign again, I can still go on here.

Another example

Another example working 1 watt. Nice video from WA2OQJ, thanks for sharing!

Still going QRP

Even with SSB there is a possibility to make DX QSO's. This video is a nice example. Today I worked IW2NOH and SQ9JXB with 1 watt JT9-1 on 20 meter this morning. I was calling LA3LJA but he did not come back for me, so I walked away from the rig to get a cup of coffee, and then I saw he was returning for me. So I missed the QSO here. Sorry.

1 watt WSPR

I tried 1 watt WSPR on 20 meter. I know that Bas, PE4BAS uses most of the time 1 watt with WSPR. It's a good method to see how propagation is. Here are the results of yesterday evening. It's a challenge to work with QRPp power how far we can go under poor propagation conditions.

Conditions were fair to poor last night due to another CME yesterday.

With JT9-1 I worked F8RZ and IZ0MIO also with 1 watt. I will do more transmissions with 1 watt and 0,5 W
Does anybody know what that bizarre tracks are on the screen?

New Blog

I started a new blog because my old ones are full of copyrighted material. Photographs from the Internet e.g. QRZ.com

Google will close down one of my video accounts because of copyright infringement. They worse case scenario: they will sue me for that. So my blog will content no longer material of others. Only photographs and videos which I have made myself.

It was too much work to 'clean' my 5 year old blog. That's why I start with a new fresh radio blog. (Unfortunately with less photos)
