VAT we are confused, but even they are confused?

Even companies exporting to the UK are now caught up in the confusing VAT debacle ..

The BBC are now picking up on the story:

Why wasn't a transition period put in place for all this, allowing a smooth change over?

Your confused, I am confused. Standby for the next exciting episode...

Confusion here in EI land too . But An Post (Irish Post ) have a new postal centre near Dublin, 12 Million Euro’s worth I think , to deal with extra post ! So if you buy a small value item over Eu22 in value , in Britain from a supplier not able , or unwilling to export VAT free , coming into EI it will be subject to VAT here at 21% on top, and wait for it : Eu10 Post office ‘administration 10 Euro charge .
If a British firm will not send to EI we can get it sent to a British accomodation address paying VAT and postage . Irish Post will then forward it in EI for Eu6.50 and collect EI VAT. So small value orders above Eu22 will suffer EI vat at 21% + Eu6.50 ! After July 2021 ALL incoming orders will be subject to VAT and Eu6.50 charge !
    Changing times indeed !

charge ‘ That is for goods above 22 Euro (don’t know if carriage is included ). After July this year the EU has decided that ALL goods incoming from outside EU will be subject to VAT and ‘admin. charges !!!
If a British supplier is unwilling to post to EI they can send it to a British accomodation address for forwarding at a cost of Eu6.50 .Again I presume Irish VAT will be added .
I am unable to find out what the situation between the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland will be .
    Changing times indeed !
