The most important thing to do right is to get the pins right. The second thing to get right is the crimping of the RJ45 connector. They failed at this. The crimped sheath serves as a strain relief so the wires do not pull out of the RJ45. The unit arrived without the sheath crimped under the 45 connector. The result: the delicate wires are threatening to pull out making a false connection. The next issue is the length of these cables, they are not uniform length and in my opinion they are not long enough. There is a rj45 connector, a non-removal power cable to interface the radio and a power jack cable. The power jack is so long that it sticks out about 1/2". I kept thinking I didn't push it in far enough and kept trying to push it in more. The power cables are about 12" long so you have to extend them if your antenna tuner and power supply are not close by. The RJ45 to the radio tuner port cable is short and if you have to extend this cable its' more complicated due to the 8 conductors in the cable. If I decide to fix the bad crimp job then it will reduce the cable length more. In my initial installation to test the interface unit was hanging in the air between the radio desktop and the shelf with the power supply and tuner. As for compatibility, I have this on a FT-DX1200 and it doesn't work seamlessly. They don't say it will work on it but really why can't they have this working on this Yaesu model?Read full review

nice, works to bring dc and control interface to ft857 from MFJ autotuner., BUT read both manuals, procedure a little complicated at first, while tuner is learning. Once memories are in there for settings on each band/band portions, tuning is almost instant.
