It still is a cost-effective way of putting vintage AM transmitter on SSB. The RF PSN was designed so that the null setting stays even when the band changes. It is slightly hard to service, but not too bad since it is light. I modified mine to include PTT line in the mic jack and the receiver mute function was also added.

This device arrived a week or so ago and at first glance, it looks great. I am very glad that I purchased it. I have a Heathkit Apache transmitter for re-building and will refurbish this at the same time. As with all built Heathkit's, they can be difficult to get operational as sometimes the quality of the build is really poor. I have been surprised many times though with just how good some builders are. I enjoy getting them up and running and always look forward to the challenge. So, do I recommend, is it of good value, and is it of good quality? Yes and No. It all depends on what you get if you order one, if you can find one. This adapter was recommended to me when I told a friend that I had an Apache transmitter, so I figured out I would add this to my station. I am glad I did.Read full review
