The Ameritron RCS-8V is a perfect solution to avoiding bringing any more cables or coax into the radio shack as possible. With the option to ground all unused terminals in the Ameritron RCS-8V the disconnection of the feed coax coax completely isolates shack from the antennas and (potential) lightning discharge. In my shack the remote switch cabling is also removed and ground during storms along with the tower's rotor control cable.

I had a Heath model that also used the coax cable to switch antennas. The switch is just as good and better built. Dave k4JRB
