Instruction manual worthless. Menus awkward to use. Radio solid and well built. Seem to receive and transmit OK. Squelch and monitor functions don't seem to work correctly, but impossible to figure out from manual. Human interface awkward and unsophisticated. Most of its issues could be fixed with a better manual and more user friendly interface

Rugged, compact, with good long antenna included. Works well in analog and digital modes. Very clear audio. Enormous capacity for programming. Best feature is the ability to group channels into ones which really helps for analog. I group channels by geographic area so when I travel I can select a zone and reduce the clutter. Far better value than a Yaesu. Everything you need is included and spares are cheap.

I bought this radio for $ 79 without GPS, I don’t have enough money for GPS, because I am disabled and have a small pension, but I don’t have a sponsor. I really like the Alinco DJ-MD5TGP, but it's $ 100 more expensive. My pipe dream is Icom ID-51A Plus2, but while I'm still alive I can never buy this radio. These are my things in blooming America.
