FLDIGI ported over to Android
6 March 2015 | by The FREE multimode digital software package that many have used for years with Windows and Linux, has now been ported to Android. Again available without any restrictions!

The software seems to cover many of the same functions, and modes, as its big brother Windows version.
I have only had a short time to play around with this tonight, but soon after I downloaded the APK on to my phone, a quick easy configure it was up and running within 5 minutes.
This now opens the door to cheap home and portable operation, using FLDIGI's modes likes PSK31 etc. Using simple Android tablets and Android PCs available from the likes of ebay for less than £50!
My 7" Android PC below, which should be suitable for use with FLDIGI.

I wonder how this compares to something like SDR Touch (http://sdrtouch.com/) Completely different animal?
Cool, and now when we’re sans-radio, we can still sit next to each other and use our phones to chat using beeps & whistles instead of RF! 😉
Which one is the latest release? 0.4.0A or 0.5.0RC2

Downloaded “AndFlmsg-B0.4.0A.apk” on my Samsung S5 doesn’t give me a screen like you show in the article nor do I get all modes as described. Did I miss something here ?

I really want this on the Google Play… This way I know the app is “safe” to install. Also, when there’s an update, it would install automatically.
Most ARES and SKYWARN units are using the fldigi software. Having this available for those that are out in the field (ie. shelters) can use this on the local repeaters to transmit important messages back to the EOC without having any errors by using voice.
Ah nice to see Dave and the gang doing some great work on all platforms, but you can tell the author of this article is a Windows user, but I’ll forgive him 🙂
I use FLDigi a lot on Ubuntu Linux with my FT-817ND and it works great, one of the best Datamode applications out there, that is totally Open Source. I’ve made 1000’s of QSO’s using it and I’ll continue to use it.
No more downloads? The APK link does nothing, goes nowhere.. Same with the Zip link.. Has this app been scrapped? Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
any effort is good effort but this still falls short of pocketdigi on the ancient pocketpc windows mobile/ce platform (ipaq). i have tried to run real fldigi via gnuroot but that does not work right either.
the best software i found so far for droid is feldhell but since i upgraded from moto g to moto x it wont run.
I have this installed on my Samsung s5 and appears to be working, but no contacts yet. I haven’t figured out how to fine tune to one of the several signals shown on the waterfall. Any suggestions here?

I downloaded this on my chromebook. It worked.
After I downloaded it, I did get the error message someone mentioned above.
