Too bad for somebody like me, a radio enthusiast but not an amateur radio operator.
Did not win. Oh well. I already own a Flex SDR. I wanted to compare the low cost SDR against the more expensive SDR. I would of done some side by side comparisons and put the review on eham.

I purchased a Ham It Up converter prior to entering the contest, I was waiting for some connectors from overseas since they don’t come with the device, due to delays on the connectors I never had a chance to test the device until the connectors arrived.
When the connectors arrived and I tested the device it was DOA NOT WORKING!
I sent several emails and called the customer support phone number as well as submitting a contact form on there website. After several days and no response from
NooElec I tried to make a claim for replacement on Paypal and was denied due to the length of time that had passed waiting for the connectors. When NooElec finaly responded to my email they were rude and non receptive to any form of exchange and told me to contact there legal department.
This is bad business practice, regardless of the time frame. I will never buy anything from NooElec ever again.
I suggest you all stay away from this place also. The device I received was junk!
and customer support sucks!

Oh and BTW how dare you try to put off a product defect on me. It’s clear you are hiding behind some BS to avoid taking responsibility for selling defective products.
“The SMA jack for the RF INPUT is the culprit! Upon assembly, there is ZERO CLEARANCE between the ground pins of P1 (SMA jack) and the two traces underneath those pins. The legs of the SMA jack scrape the coating off the PCB and SHORT OUT those traces.”

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I have a Ham It Up upconverter, have been pleased with it, and have had no issues whatsoever. I will let NooElec know, however, and encourage them to respond here.

Thanks Matt W1MST You could have deleted my post and I appreciate the opportunity to voice my complaints.
I doubt they will make it right, There legal department just sent me an email to not contact them anymore. Because I told them I would post my dissatisfaction everywhere on the web… As long as it’s the truth I can post about my problems with them, Yet they seem to be trying to bully me with a lawyer. I’m disgusted with the way they have treated me as customer.
All I wanted was a up-converter not a legal battle.
Like I said before it’s just bad business. I have fixed the ZERO CLEARANCE between the ground pins of P1 (SMA jack) my self. It works now! No thanks to NooElec..
