    Hi guys
having just read an article on here about codec2 700c over AWGN and HF channels. having been a telecommunications professional for over 30 years this was very interesting and way beyond the understanding of most united kingdom amateurs. we have a very strong problem now with some who are well educated , however they do not show there real status of knowledge. By not progressing further up then licence structure in the u.k. to the advanced levels. where they are supposed to be with the knowledge base of a ONC level of competence. yes even O level electronics is as far as the current radio amateur licence goes. this would at least give us who have a full licence some help if we knew the level of competence we could relate to when talking about technical subjects.
    Best regards Robert.
