I got one of this and tested it at 450 MHz comparing results with Bird Thermaline wattmeter and HP frequency meter. Accuracy: frequency within 1 KHz, Power 10% @ 1 watt. This is a nice low cost instrument ideal for field/bench quick measurements of freq. and RF power with internal 50 ohms dummy load and Hold meter option. The only CON is the case quality. Would be great if it was Lexan o more rugged type of plastic , but you can't get that just paying $30 + S/H. I would recommend this meter for price/performance and pocket size with regular AAA batteries.

Overall good value, you will need to calibrate the power meter before to get meaningful readings and also requires a reasonably strong signal to display correct frequency. Not lab quality, but quite adequate for quick bench and field work. A backlight would be great. (I am fitting one to my unit)

This meter is better then I expected and the results I got compared well with equipment I borrowed. Frequency accuracy was bang on below 400 Mhz and only low by 1Hkz over 400 Mhz. It would be nice if the auto-turn off was slower so I could get thru a series of readings. Also the manual, like many things made in "over seas" was poorly written. Maybe they need a North American to re-write them, it was bad enough that it was truly confusing. I'm concerned about durability of the case and switch, etc. I have noticed other items from "over seas" with cheap plastics breaking in a year or two, even when not used. When turning on, it begins sporadic counting of signals coming thru the case, I'll experiment with a foil shield and see what happens. But once a signal is applied, the display is stable if the source is steady. Buy again? YupRead full review

Internal inspection showed the instrument is well constructed, without any sign of bad soldering. The BNC-M to SMA-F adaptor has limited use, however a BNC-M to SMA-M would be more useful for connecting the SMA-f to SMA-F fly lead. Such adaptors are available very cheaply on ebay. The new GY561 received with default factory calibration was compared with other brand test devices. For frequency measurement, the results were within 1 kHz of the specified frequencies within the 2 m and 70 cm amateur radio bands. It was not tested outside these bands. For power measurements, the accuracy was within 500 mW below 10 W and better than 1.5 W between 20 and 50 W. Compared with instruments of much higher price this is quite acceptable. The 50 ohm dummy load resistor is tiny and attached to a good heat sink, however it is obvious that the 50 W upper limit must not be exceeded, and measurement made for a very short time. The HOLD function is particularly useful for locking in results without overheating the dummy load. This dual-function instrument is particularly good value and can be recommended.Read full review

Works as advertised. Great price for a meter.
