The M1225 is a great radio for anyone who is building a UHF GMRS system or needs a VHF radio for such things as adding coms to a volunteer Fire Dept or the like. Easy to program (with the right equipment) and very versatile, this radio is one of my favorites. It comes in two wattage ranges (25 and 40) and either the 4 channel conventional or 20 channel conventional. One thing you should be aware of is this radio is also offered as a M1225-LS. The LS version is used for trunking and only has room for 2 conventional channels. Make sure you choose the model that suits your purpose. Enjoy!

I purchased this radio as a spare and I am glad I did. It works as it should, with real clear RX audio thanks to the build in speaker in the front of the radio. I have had good report of transmitting audio as well! Over all a good analog UHF radio.
