It's expensive (but what iCom accessory isn't?). But, it's a nice quality piece that fits the radio well and provides some good cushion to protect from bumps and bruises on this expensive HT. You can still use all the functions of the radio except removing the battery and using the drop-in charger. You can still connect the standard cord, the speaker/mic or headset, use the PTT, Monitor, and Power buttons. You can (with a little difficulty) get the MicroSD card out, too. There is also a cutout so you can use the wrist strap still. If this was $15, I'd give it all 5 stars! I only took the one away for value, not quality. This is not a $30 part as I can get one for my phone for $3.

When used correctly this product will make noisy signals better. It requires some tweaking in my receiver , an Icom R75. RF gain and Noise reduction settings are critical . Between 4 and 6 seem to work best. It will begin to eat into the desired audio at higher settings.
