ICOM should still make this transceiver. It's easy to use and you don't have to page through menu after menu to do what you want. I prefer the more tactile feel of a radio and this gives that to you in a high quality way. It's a solidly built radio but it is somewhat dated by the outlets on the back. No USB ports here. You can still control the radio with your computer however. The antenna tuner works great. Pretty robust. Easy to use notch filter that really works well. Good sensitivity and the real time spectrum monitor is very useful. The monitor is on all the time and is constantly monitoring the band down to 12.5 kz on either side of you or up to 100 kz. 73's WA7CPR

This transceiver had756PRO III always been on my radar for an extended time. Up until this time, I was using an IC-756PRO and was pleased with its performance, Unfortunately over time it developed problems, a/k/a death by 1000 cuts and decided to retire it. Fortunately, this 'PRO III was advertised for a fair price. I purchased the unit. It was packed extremely well and arrived quickly. After testing, I placed the unit into service. The unit's sensitivity and selectivity are excellent, in fact I now run the unit with 6 to 12 dB of attenuation. I have also received rave reviews about the transmit audio. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would place this unit as a +25. This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Mike, W1MCT

It all started when i went to do a Dx petition on our local lake here in Texas, one of my friends took he’s Icom 756 proiii, and was very pleased he let me run it through all the day, made very good contacts and most of the time in all the contacts the operator would say you have a great audio, sounds crisp and clear with a bit of bass, well of course i had set up the Dsp equalizer on it. I bought one for me and had it ever since, its a very nice transceiver and would recommend it.

It looks really nice. The embroidery is what I would expect if Icom had made it. It fits well and looks good and keeps the dust off. I'm satisfied with the cover. It's what I would expect for the money and it should last a long time.

These may be "older" rigs at this point, but it still outperforms anything you can get for the price today.
