I bought this after struggling with another popular but cheaper Chinese brand. I finally broke down and shelled out the money for the Kenwood TH-K20 (but even so, the cost is reasonable). It is user-intuitive and easy to pop in repeater channels, PL, and offset out in the field without needing computer software or a manual. I get much better signal reports with the Kenwood. Scan is wicked fast. Stock antenna is better than most stock antennas, but I do recommend a slim jim or other j-pole roll up if you are stationary. It is sturdy and solid, yet easy to carry around and not heavy. Feels good in your hand; not too big and not too small. Charge time is about 3 hours from empty. I highly recommend this if you are looking for high quality, ease of use, and just want a basic 2m with all the necessary repeater features. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.Read full review

I have owned many 2 meter HT's from several different manufacturers. If you want a basic 2 meter HT that is easy to program, has great audio quality, has a great display, and is super durable, then this HT might be for you. The battery lasts all day + some under normal use. It is a real 5.5 watts. I will always have a TH-K20A in my shack.
